We wanted to approach the topic of sport in a different way and finally landed on chess. The digital magazine tells the history of the Schwäbisch Gmünd chess club and the sport itself. The focus was placed on youth work with the aim of bringing the sport closer to our target group.
To convey the feeling of being on the chessboard, we use an alternating black and white rhythm and imply a sense of direction in micro-animations.
By adding interactive elements to the text and images, we have taken advantage of the digital medium to enhance user interaction.
As it was the first digital application, we experimented a lot and tried different ways of approaching this magazine.
